Have fun as you bring to life the ghoulish past of our premier frightseeing Ghosts & Gravestones tour!

The Ghost Host must have a good sense of fun and a desire to entertain while sharing stories of Savannah's haunted past. The person in this position must make our guests feel welcomed and glad they have chosen our company to entertain them.

**Monday-Thursday availability a MUST, open availability is a plus**

We Offer:

  • Competitive pay and paid training: $18 per hour + tips, most Ghost Actors average around $25 per hour, depending on tips
  • All FT Employees are eligible for 2 weeks of paid vacation time as well as company sponsored health and wellness plans

Requirements:

Essential Functions

  • Present historically accurate information in an entertaining manner in costume, on a moving trolley on busy streets and outdoors in various weather conditions, several times a work shift, in a loud audible voice with or without amplification to be heard from everywhere in the trolley.
  • Portray costumes historical characters, either based upon real persons or composites of real persons to entertain and narrate local history from an approved script.
  • Study and rehearse roles from scripts to learn and memorize lines and cues as directed.
  • Ability to fill multiple acting roles withing the tour, and switch positions with ease when required during a work shift.
  • Use props as directed and remain on show schedule when performing.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to learn and memorize scripted materials and historical details
  • Ability to work independently over long periods of time within the scope of established rules and regulations to satisfy the needs of our guests
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and difficult people while maintaining a professional and pleasant demeanor
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluent English in order to communicate with fellow employees and the general public
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to work outside

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Strong interest in history is desirable
  • Prior performance or interpretation experience preferred

  • Must pass pre-employment background check and substance abuse testing
