Accounts Payable Associate Responsibilities and Duties (Part-time)

ReportsTo: Accounts Payable Manager

JobSummary

Accounts PayableAssociate performs crucial dutiesthat ensure vendors get paid for services andproducts rendered. They review and process invoices, audit credit card bills,answer vendor inquiries, reconcile vendor statements, process and maintain 1099statements, and process and distribute checks.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Performingday-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, andrecording accounts payable data.
  • Preparingbills, invoices, and bank Expenses.
  • BookInvoices and Credit Memos by uploading documents to the ERP System.
  • Verifyand investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts andmonthly vendor statements.
  • Understandscompliance issues around accounts payable processes
  • Preparinganalyses of accounts and producing weekly and monthly reports.
  • Makesure that all the credits are reconciled and applied to their respective invoicesat the end of the month.
  • Reconcileaccounts payable transactions.
  • Prepareand perform check runs
  • Assistwith month-end closing
  • AnswerPhone Calls and reply to emails from vendors and Internals.
  • Maintainconfidentiality of organizational information.
  • Assistwith future projects.

Qualificationrequirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; Associates Degree or equivalent from atwo-year college or technical school preferred
  • 1-3 years of accounts payable experience.
  • Food & Beverage experience.
  • Ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures andfinancial records.
  • General math skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including the ability to operatecomputerized accounting and spreadsheet programs
  • The high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, andconfidentiality
  • Excellent data entry skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational, stress, and time management skills
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
