Georgia State University Parking & Transportation is seeking a detail-oriented Parking Specialist (Temp).

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Georgia State University Parking & Transportation is seeking a detail-oriented Parking Specialist (Temp) to review parking transaction activity, correct transactional errors, reconcile daily activity, and escalate unresolved or systemic issues to the Director. This role is ideal for someone who is accurate with numbers, comfortable working in transactional systems (AIMS, TiBA, ParkMobile ChargePoint, and PantherCash familiarity helpful, but training will be provided), and who enjoys solving problems and improving processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Monitor daily parking transaction queues and exception reports for errors, duplicates, failed payments, expired credentials, and other anomalies.
  • Research and troubleshoot transaction issues across parking systems (AIMS, TiBA, ParkMobile ChargePoint, and PantherCash, credit card processor logs, gate/vendor reports).
  • Make appropriate corrections and adjustments in the parking systems, following established policies and audit trails.
  • Process refunds, voids, and billing corrections within policy limits; prepare documentation for approvals when required.
  • Escalate unresolved, high-value, repetitive, or suspicious transactions to the Parking & Transportation Director for review and action.
  • Reconcile daily lot/deck revenue and transaction totals; prepare concise exception and reconciliation reports.
  • Maintain accurate, auditable records of all transaction changes and communications.
  • Provide timely, professional customer service via phone/email as needed to clarify transactions and resolve customer inquiries.
  • Suggest process improvements to reduce recurring transaction errors and improve system integrity.
  • Support audits and provide transaction documentation on request.
  • Adhere to university policies regarding cash handling, confidentiality, and data security.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Requirements:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numeric data.
  • Comfortable using web-based administrative systems and basic troubleshooting.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel (sorting, filters, basic formulas).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience with parking management systems such as AIMS, ParkMobile, or similar.
  • Experience processing refunds/adjustments and maintaining audit trails.
  • Familiarity with campus parking operations and common parking payment methods (credit card processing, PantherCash).
  • Prior experience working in higher education, municipal parking, or transit agencies.
    Working conditions & physical demands:
  • Primarily office-based work on the downtown campus; some standing or walking to investigate lot/gate issues may be required occasionally.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods and use a computer and telephone.
  • Must pass background check as required by university hiring policies.
