Job description

Elite Parking Services of America is hiring a professional Airport Parking Attendant to support parking operations at Hilton Head Island Airport. This role is responsible for ensuring the parking system operates correctly, assisting passengers, supporting smooth entry and exit flow, and delivering a high level of customer service. This is not just a โ€œstand around and watch the lotโ€ position. This role is part customer service, part technology support, part traffic support, and part problem-solver. The right person must be dependable, professional, calm under pressure, and comfortable helping travelers who may be in a hurry.

Key Responsibilities

Parking System Support:
-Monitor parking equipment to ensure gates, ticket machines, payment kiosks, LPR/camera systems, and exit devices are functioning properly.
-Assist customers with entry, exit, ticket, validation, and payment issues.
-Identify system errors, equipment malfunctions, failed transactions, or gate issues and report them immediately.
-Follow escalation procedures when equipment is down or customer access is impacted.
-Document parking system issues, customer complaints, and operational incidents.
Customer Service:
-Greet passengers and airport guests in a professional and friendly manner.
-Provide clear directions for parking, payment, terminal access, and exit procedures.
-Assist customers who are confused about the parking system or need help completing payment.
-Remain calm and respectful when dealing with frustrated or delayed passengers.
-Represent the airport and Elite Parking with professionalism at all times.
Parking Lot Operations:
-Monitor parking lot activity and traffic flow.
-Help maintain safe vehicle movement near entrances, exits, and pedestrian areas.
-Report unsafe conditions, damaged signage, broken equipment, abandoned vehicles, or maintenance concerns.
-Support lot cleanliness by reporting trash, hazards, or facility issues.
-Assist with occupancy checks and vehicle monitoring as needed.
-Documentation & Communication
-Complete required shift reports, incident reports, equipment checks, and customer service notes.
-Communicate clearly with supervisors, airport staff, and remote support teams.
-Follow company procedures for opening, closing, system checks, escalation, and service recovery.

Qualifications:
-Strong customer service and communication skills.
-Ability to use basic technology, including tablets, mobile apps, parking equipment, and reporting tools.
-Dependable, punctual, and able to work assigned shifts consistently.
-Professional appearance and attitude.
-Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
-Ability to remain calm when assisting upset or confused customers.
-Prior airport, parking, hospitality, valet, security, transportation, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who:
-Enjoys helping people.
-Can troubleshoot simple equipment or system issues.
-Pays attention to details.
-Communicates clearly and respectfully.
-Takes ownership when something is not working.
-Understands that airport customers are often rushed, stressed, or unfamiliar with the parking process.
-Can follow procedures without being babysat โ€” because nobody wants to manage an adult like a houseplant.

Schedule
Shifts may include weekdays, weekends, holidays, mornings, afternoons, and evenings based on airport parking demand and operational needs.

Compensation
Starting pay ranges from $20 to $30 per hour, based on experience, availability, customer service skills, and ability to support parking system functionality.

How to Apply
Interested candidates should submit their resume or work history and include any experience in customer service, airport operations, parking, hospitality, transportation, or technology-supported operations.

Elite Parking Services of America is looking for reliable, professional team members who can help deliver a smooth, safe, and customer-friendly parking experience at Hilton Head Island Airport.
