Paraprofessional

Purpose of the position:

To assist the teacher in matters essential to the efficient and effective operation of the classroom.ย ย 
ย 

ย Strategic Goal Area I Student Achievementย ย 

1. Assist the teacher/supervisor in meeting and instructing assigned classes in the location and at times designatedย 

2. Assist the teacher/supervisor in developing and in maintaining a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the districtย 

3. Assist the teacher/supervisor in preparing for classes assignedย 

4. Assist the teacher/supervisor in using a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involvedย 
ย 

Strategic Goal Area II Stakeholder Engagement and Loyaltyย ย 

1. Communicate effectively with students, peers, administration, and teachersย 

2. Exhibit pleasant behavior and project a positive image when dealing with students, peers, administration, and teachersย 

3. Follow and enforce regulations concerning student conduct, discipline, and attendanceย 

4. Assist the teacher in maintaining a positive learning environment 5. Assist the teacher in maximizing instructional timeย 

6. Assist the teacher in helping students take responsibility for behavior and learningย

1. Assist the teacher/supervisor in maintaining accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulationsย

1. Attend and participate in faculty meetings and other necessary events if required by the supervising teacher or the principalย 

2. Provide for his/her own professional growth through the staff development program provided by the system or other approved agencyย 

3. Perform such other tasks and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to timeย
