Job description

Description:

We are looking for a temp to hire Network engineer to join our team at Paragon. 


Position Summary: The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the organization’s enterprise network with a strong focus on Cisco technologies. This role oversees advanced network security controls, access solutions, and infrastructure reliability across all sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and optimize Cisco network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, WLCs, and related technologies.
  • Lead administration of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and 802.1X authentication for wired and wireless access.
  • Manage and support dynamic routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP), site-to-site and remote-access VPNs, WAN connectivity, and hybrid cloud network integrations (including secure connectivity to cloud providers).
  • Maintain network availability, security, and performance through proactive monitoring, lifecycle planning, and capacity forecasting.
  • Implement and enforce network security controls, segmentation strategies, and secure configuration baselines.
  • Collaborate with IT and security leadership to design network architectures and present proposed solutions.
  • Serve as technical lead for infrastructure projects, upgrades, and enterprise network initiatives.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support for escalated incidents.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, diagrams, inventory, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in on call; occasional travel to remote sites as needed. 

  Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive network engineering experience in enterprise environments.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Cisco networking platforms, including ISE, WLC, 802.1X, and VPN technologies.
  • Strong expertise with LAN/WAN architectures and dynamic routing (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP).
  • Proficiency supporting Windows Server, Windows client networks, and Linux-based systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with DNS, DHCP, certificates, and core network services.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices and network hardening.
  • Current Cisco CCNA certification required.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs and work in varied environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cisco CCNP, CCNP Security, or equivalent advanced certifications.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2019 or newer.
  • Experience supporting compliance frameworks such as NIST, PCI, SOX, or FISMA.
  • Virtualization experience is a plus.
