Job Description

The Campus Supervisor, under the supervision and direction of Campus Culture Coordinator, in accordance with the school's management plan, leads and performs duties related to the maintenance of campus safety and security; serves as a lead supervisor for an assigned shift and/or area while also performing general security duties; monitors and patrols campus facilities, property and offices for purposes of controlling campus safety and security, parking and other issues; responds to intrusion and fire alarms, as well as other requests for assistance; investigates and enforces safety and security rules, regulations and legal infractions concerning the protection of persons and property; observes, reports and maintains the property, security and safety of the campus; and performs related work as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist certificated employees with positive behavior support by explaining school rules to students and parents.
  • Establish rapport with faculty and students to maintain and enhance a positive school environment
  • Patrol in and around the campus, including parking and adjacent areas, during school hours, providing general supervision of students outside of class and remain alert to problems likely to disrupt the educational process or be physically injurious to persons or property.
  • Provide intervention support in situations that may be disruptive, cause injury
  • Monitor and escort students who are out of class during class time; direct tardy students to go to appropriate school office.
  •  Redirect non-students/ persons who come on campus during school hours and direct them to the office for visitor check-in or escort individual to campus exits; notify the school administration immediately if compliance does not occur
  •  Escort students to the school administration for serious or repeated school violations.
  • Assist with student arrival and dismissal, including bus Loading/Unloading
  • Supervise student detention and other areas under the guidance of site administration.
  • Assist in stopping student fights and other potentially dangerous situations.
  • Complete necessary written reports accurately using modern office machines, and serve as a witness in student conferences, disciplinary hearings/proceedings, and legal hearings/proceedings.
  • Assist law enforcement officers, as needed, in handling serious students' offenses.
  • Attend and successfully complete all staff development trainings
  • Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities
  • Routinely supervise extra-curricular activities.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:15 am - 4:15 pm

Pay: $18.00/hour.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2- 4 years' experience providing supervision to middle or high school students preferred
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with students, families, and staff of diverse ethnic, racial, cultural, educational, and economic backgrounds.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check (including fingerprints) upon official offer and acceptance of a position with WCPA.
  • Operating knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Outlook, Virtual Meeting (Zoom/Microsoft Teams), Google Drive.
  • Operating knowledge of hand-held radio and surveillance camera
  • A valid license to drive in California is required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid CPR/First/AED certificate.

Skills, Knowledge:

  • Communicate effectively in oral and written forms.
  • Problem-solve and work as a collaborative team member
  • Principles and practices of security services.
  • Principles and practices of supervision and leadership; conflict resolution strategies, and problem- solving procedures.
  • Human Psychology as well as behavior modification strategies and techniques.
  • Policies, rules and regulations, legal provisions concerning school safety and security, property protection, campus control, and appropriate and acceptable student behavior.
  • Legal provisions governing security on K-12 campus.
  • Safe facility patrol and protection; campus supervision methods and procedures
  • Knowledge of school safety practices-preferred
  • Knowledge of appropriate de-escalation strategies- preferred
  • Keep and maintain accurate records and communicate in oral and written form.

  • Wonderful College Prep Academy offers highly competitive compensation, commensurate with experience. 
  • Full-time staff benefits include medical coverage, dental, vision, and life insurance at no cost to the employee. We also offer an optional 403b, with company match, as a supplement to STRS retirement pension. In addition, employees have free access to the Wonderful Wellness Center and gym.
