Job description

TITLE: Material Handler 

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Paper packaging company is seeking Forklift Drivers to unload trucks of skids and paper rolls, move materials to the warehouse, supply machines with paper rolls and cartons, pick orders and palletize cartons for shipments.

2nd shift positions open: 2pm to 10:30pm

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 5 continuous years’ experience operating a sit-down.
  • Experience is preferred in clamp and stand-up order picker.
  • Preferred experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
  • Experience with a hand scanner and tablet.
  • Be self-motivated, and able to work without close supervision.
  • Honest, dependable, safety and quality conscious.
  • Good job history required.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive the sit-down forklift to pick up skids of finished cartons, stretch wrap and label, and stack on racks in the warehouse according to location. 
  • Drive the clamp truck to deliver rolls of paper to and from machines and stack rolls in the warehouse according to location. 
  • Drive the order picker to pick cartons and palletize orders.
  • Manually pack carton orders in the warehouse as needed. 
  • Load and unload materials, cartons, pallets, and paper rolls from trucks.
  • Scanning materials in and out of inventory with hand scanner.
  • Weigh wrapped skids and record weight for labels.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

  • Must adhere to all safety regulations, including the use of PPE.
  • Fast paced warehouse with exposure to machinery noise.

TRAINING:

  • Must complete online and classroom training as required.

VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

  • Must wear corrective lenses if required on driver’s license.
