Job Description:

Responsible for the direction and coordination of Warehouse operations to meet production schedules, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This role has a strong emphasis on execution of warehousing and kitting operations, ensuring efficient material flow to support production.

This role oversees daily operations within a manufacturing and warehouse environment, ensuring processes run efficiently, safely, and in alignment with quality standards. The position includes responsibility for optimizing material flow, kitting accuracy, and warehouse execution to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warehousing & Kitting Execution

    • Lead and optimize day-to-day warehouse and kitting operations, ensuring accurate, timely delivery of materials to production lines and assembly.

    • Establish and maintain standard work for kitting, material handling, and inventory flow.

    • Drive improvements in warehouse organization, pick/pack/kitting accuracy, inventory control, and material presentation at point-of-use.

  • Production & Flow Management

    • Analyze forecasts and coordinate schedules to meet delivery requirements; monitor progress and direct team activities.

    • Drive end-to-end material and production flow, minimizing bottlenecks, excess inventory, and downtime.

    • Arrange manpower to minimize overtime, reduce costs, and adapt to changing production demands.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination

    • Liaise with procurement, logistics, and production teams to ensure seamless material flow into production areas.

    • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering to resolve constraints impacting flow and throughput.

  • Team Leadership

    • Lead, train, and mentor team members, across warehouse and paint functions.

    • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

  • Safety & Compliance

    • Enforce all health, safety, and environmental standards; conduct audits and implement corrective actions.

  • Quality Management

    • Ensure materials and finished goods meet specifications through robust quality checks.

    • Address root causes of quality issues related to handling, storage, or kitting processes.

  • Lean & Continuous Improvement

    • Identify inefficiencies in material flow, warehouse layout, and kitting processes.

    • Lead and support Lean initiatives (flow, pull systems, waste reduction, standard work).

    • Implement sustainable improvements using A3, Kaizen, and root cause analysis w/sustainable countermeasures.

  • Cost & Performance Management

    • Review costs, labor utilization, and operational methods; recommend improvements.

    • Use data to identify gaps and drive performance improvements.

  • Employee Relations

    • Enforce company policies; maintain positive employee relations; support hiring, development, and performance management.

  • Reporting & Communication

    • Maintain records and prepare reports related to operations, inventory, and performance.

    • Participate in production and leadership meetings.

  • Leadership Expectations

    • Embrace and model leadership principles and drive a high-performance, continuous improvement culture.

Competencies

  • Strong expertise in warehouse operations, kitting processes, and material flow optimization

  • Deep knowledge of Lean manufacturing, flow, pull systems, and waste reduction principles

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate across functions

  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams

  • Proficiency in:

    • A3 Problem Solving

    • Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI)

    • RCCM / Root Cause Analysis

    • Kaizen and Lean methodologies

    • Leader Standard Work

  • Strong data-driven decision-making skills; ability to interpret and act on metrics

  • Experience with visual management systems (SQDC, KPI boards)

  • Ability to lead daily tier meetings and drive accountability through metrics

  • Proficient in MS Office and working knowledge of ERP systems

  • Strong capability in capacity planning, scheduling, workforce planning, and training

  • Highly adaptable, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Associate's degree preferred

  • Demonstrated experience in warehouse leadership, kitting operations, and material flow required

  • Continuous improvement experience required; Lean Six Sigma certification preferred

  • Minimum of 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution environments

Position Type

This is a regular, full-time position. Extended hours may be required to meet business needs.
