Material Handler - Forklift
Pay: $22 - $24 per hour
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Issue raw materials in a timely fashion to designated work stations. Move work in process to designated areas. Segregate printed materials from other waste and dispose.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
โ€ข Stages trays, cages, pallets, cartons, dollies, skids, cut material, folded material and waste containers as required.
โ€ข Manages chipboard on and off of dollies and skids.
โ€ข Empties waste containers in each process area.
โ€ข Separates and properly discards corrugated, printed material, miscellaneous garbage.
โ€ข Performs banding, stretch wrapping etc. of materials for shipment.
โ€ข Delivers shipments to various departments.
โ€ข Interfaces with truckers for outbound shipments, ensures all necessary documentation and samples are properly secured with outgoing shipments.
โ€ข Acts as a back-up for shipping, receiving and warehousing.
โ€ข Follows all standard operating procedures relevant to the job, position and department.
โ€ข Follows established policies, work instructions and safety and environmental guidelines.
โ€ข Records production information such as amount of time spent on specific tasks.
โ€ข Performs all assigned work effectively and on schedule.
โ€ข Follows instructions accurately.
โ€ข Keeps work area neat and clean.
โ€ข Performs all other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
โ€ข Prior warehouse experience is preferred.
โ€ข Must have or able to obtain a fork lift license.
โ€ข Must demonstrate knowledge of or ability learn safety rules and procedures and operating policies and procedures.
โ€ข Must demonstrate basic computer knowledge (data entry).
โ€ข Must have the ability to perform basic arithmetic including additions, subtraction,
multiplication and division.
โ€ข Must be able to work well in a team environment.
โ€ข Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
โ€ข Must be able to learn quickly and adapt to change.
โ€ข Must possess the following competencies: accuracy, reliability, decision making, time management and self motivation.
โ€ข Must be able to maintain good attendance.
โ€ข Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
โ€ข Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
