Job description

Palmetto Home Center, a nations Best company location is looking to hire a dedicated Part-time Paint Specialist for our Summerville, SC location !

What Does a Paint Specialist Do?

  • Provides outstanding customer service by assisting all customers in a friendly and helpful manner
  • Supports the paint sales efforts by servicing contractors and retail customers
  • Assists customers in person and over the phone by determining paint needs and presenting appropriate products and services
  • Ensures that sales transactions are completed accurately, maintains precise work order files and formulas, pulls appropriate products from the sales floor, and tints and mixes products to customer specifications
  • Stocks shelves and sets up displays, cleans store equipment and load/unloads delivery trucks
  • Assists customers with paint identification and matching paint samples
  • Provides customers with guidance in selecting the appropriate type of paint, such as latex or oil-based, and color tones
  • Highlights current promotions and sales items to customers to increase overall sales 
  • Additional duties as assigned

What Does It Take to Be Successful as a Paint Specialist?

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Computer proficiency
  • Knowledge of paint products 
  • Experience with selling, mixing, matching and identifying paint products
  • Possess a paint product knowledge of related products and a willingness to learn 
  • Previous experience in a retail environment preferred
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
  • Results-oriented with the ability to serve stores with humility and be a steward of Nation’s Best’s values
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexible
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to consistently provide superior customer service skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25-50lbs consistently and bend, twist, squat and reach throughout work shift
