Astronics-PECO is located in Clackamas, Oregon, where we design and manufacture highly engineered commercial aerospace interior components and systems for the aerospace industry. We specialize in Passenger Service Units (PSUs) which incorporate air handling, emergency oxygen, electrical power management and cabin lighting systems. We also manufacture a wide range of fuel tank access doors that meet stringent strength, fuel sealing and anti-corrosion requirements.
We are seeking a qualified industrial painter to join our team and meet our growing production demand. This is a union position and includes competitive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, pension, paid vacation, and 11 paid holidays. You will help support our team on the night shift 11pm - 7am.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Select and mix paint and accurately spray finish the parts
  • Wear appropriate airline hood and full suit
  • Maintain and document maintenance of personal protective equipment
  • Maintain paint booth
  • Document paint usage
  • Properly collect and dispose of paint media to applicable rules and regulations
  • Clean spraying equipment and brushes with appropriate chemicals
  • Attend Quality Manual Standards Training and apply Quality Standards accordingly
  • Observe safety and security procedures; Report potentially unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly
  • Report to work consistently on time and work an 8-hour shift

Desired Training, Skills, and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • Previous industrial painting experience, preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft office applications
  • Ability to resolve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to perform basic math computation such as add subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints and customer specifications

Physical Demands and the Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to grasp handle, use of fingers to engage trigger mechanism or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk for long periods of time. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, intermittently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employee must be able to bend, stoop and squat to access work areas, perform tasks, and lift items. Specific vision abilities required by this job include natural or corrected near vision, close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is intermittently exposed to the outside weather conditions. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes, building temperature fluctuation, dust, chemicals, odors and low to moderate levels of noise. Other conditions may include frequent interruptions, working alone, working long hours during peak periods and exposure to computer monitors. Supplied air, full suits, face shield, and hearing protection is required while performing painting duties. Use of Respirators and safety glasses is task specific, while performing cleaning and re-work duties.
During periods of high and excessive heat, work scheduled can be shifted from the standard 7am-3:30pm to a 5am-1:30pm to mitigate heat exposure.
