Job description

Hi-Vac Corporation is searching for a Master Painter to work in the Paint Department of Hi-Vac's manufacturing facility on night shift! The Industrial Painter works with a team of Painters Helpers and Assistants painting fabricated parts in the manufacturing process of Hi-Vac's large environmental products. Hi-Vac Corporation is the market leading manufacturer of vacuum technology and due to sale growth, we are looking for highly motivated professionals to join our team!
Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Prepares equipment for painting, including cleaning and preparing surfaces and applying masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
  • Inspects quality of parts; fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
  • Selects and mixes paint to produce desired color, according to the paint manufacturer's requirements.
  • Mixes and applies specified coatings to required specifications.
  • Inspects painted units for runs, sags, and unpainted areas.
  • Cleans paint booth, conveyor, hoses, spray heads, brushes and nozzles.
  • Appropriately disposes of paint waste and hazardous materials.
  • Communicates with the floor supervisor regarding the schedule.
  • Ensures adequate supply of paint for upcoming orders.
  • Maintains paint department equipment and supplies, including ordering materials, filling containers with prescribed quantities of paint and thinner, installing specified nozzles in spray guns and replacing screens and filters.

Education, Skills and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience with autobody or similar painting processes.
  • Forklift experience a plus but not required.
