Job description

Position Overview
Hospitality Health ER is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to help keep our emergency room facilities in Tyler, Texas safe, functional, and patient-ready at all times. This full-time position is essential to our mission of delivering exceptional care in a clean, professional, and fully operational environment.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable addressing both routine maintenance tasks and urgent facility needs with confidence and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Director, the Maintenance Technician will:
  • Complete assigned maintenance work orders efficiently and on time
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and participate in scheduled on-call coverage
  • Perform general facility maintenance, including:
    • Minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC repairs
    • Light bulb replacement, paint touch-ups, and minor drywall repairs
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain building systems and equipment
  • Assemble, install, and repair furniture, cabinetry, shelving, appliances, and equipment according to manufacturer specifications
  • Ensure proper functionality of safety and life-safety systems
  • Coordinate and collaborate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams during renovations or facility projects
  • Assist with facility improvement projects such as painting, landscaping, power washing, and parking lot striping
  • Attend maintenance- and construction-related meetings as needed
  • Operate a company vehicle for work-related assignments
  • Maintain a professional appearance and comply with all company policies and safety protocols
Position Requirements
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
  • Flexibility to meet scheduling needs, including on-call responsibilities
  • High level of integrity and accountability when handling company resources (credit card, petty cash, vehicle)
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license
  • Ability to work professionally with staff, leadership, and physicians
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related maintenance experience
  • Experience with painting and drywall repair
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and drawings
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Bend, stoop, push, pull, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds or more as needed
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Work indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Perform duties in fast-paced or potentially stressful environments
  • Safely handle chemicals and hazardous materials
  • Tolerate potential exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids
