Wenger Corporation is seeking manufacturing a Powder Paint Line Operator to contribute to the success of Wenger Corporation’s corporate strategy of providing an exceptional customer experience by reading bill of materials for proper loading and unloading parts, line setting / stripping, and placing materials on an overhead conveyor on our powder paint line, while working in a safe manner with a quality focus.
 
At a minimum, you’ll need:
  • Physical ability to stand entire shift, full range of movement of arm and shoulders, considerable amount of bending, and ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Basic equipment knowledge and computer skills
  • Communication and teamwork skills 
  • Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision
  • Ability to apply mathematical techniques to calculate data or solve practical problems
  • Experience using tools and machines to complete the assigned work
  • Grasps the meaning of written and verbal communication and ability to apply it to work situations
  • HS Diploma or GED, preferred
As a Powder Paint Line Operator, a typical day may include:
  • Loading and unloading of product and tooling from overhead conveyor line
    • Inspection of parts for defects
  • Assemble products and perform quality tests
  • Masking and plugging of  parts according to the bill of materials and shop drawings
  • Assisting with output, quality and productivity and making recommends changes as needed
  • Completing ERP transactions
  • Performing ‘End of the Line’ part inspections and proper placement of finished goods
  • Packaging, labeling and palletizing of parts for assembly or shipping
  • Identifying ways to improve line density and capacity, fixturing and packing methods to best accommodate the products and quality
  • Completing preventative maintenance tasks
  • Providing back up support to Paint Technician, Industrial Painter and/or Material Handler, as needed
  • Offering suggestions related to enhancing work instructions to ensure quality conformance and specifications are met
  • Assisting with training of new Team Members to ensure assignments and duties are understood and that the job duties do not interfere with the completion of the overall job objectives of the paint system
  • Adhering to PPE requirements to ensure all equipment required to do a job is provided and in good working condition
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area to minimize safety hazards and accidents
  • English proficiency is required for this manufacturing position to ensure safety compliance and fulfillment of operational needs. The candidate must be able to speak, read and understand English in order to follow equipment instructions, understand safety protocols and respond to emergency situations. Strong English skills are also necessary for communicating with team members, supervisors and other departments to ensure smooth production processes and to maintain quality standards.
  • While performing the functions of this job, the team member is continuously required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear. The team member is occasionally required to kneel, crouch, squat, bend, twist/turn and climb ladder/stairs. The team member is continuously required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate machines, equipment, tools or controls. Team member is continuously required to reach with hands and arms. The functions of the job include occasionally viewing a computer monitor and repetitive motion activities on the keyboard. The team member may continuously be required to lift, move, push/pull up to and over 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
