PACS administrator oversees PACS, CPACS and other imaging application systems to include imaging dictation/reporting systems. Establishes, develops, documents, communicates and coordinates PACS/CPACS scheduled and unscheduled downtime procedures and policies. Works closely with Information Services to maintain up time and interface connections with imaging applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Provides daily support and administrative responsibility for the PACS and other system. This includes coordinating all system maintenance and implementation activities with Information Systems and Medical Imaging Services Department. This includes project planning, scheduling, reporting, tracking, issue management and delivery of assigned projects.
  2. Provides system administrative support of all aspects of all imaging applications system. Performs daily audits of imaging applications as needed and as recommended by Information Systems. This includes monitoring and/or audits of imaging system functions to minimize discrepancies in patient data and imaging records.
  3. Works closely with all areas of Information Services to ensure complete, efficient and integrated systems. Adheres to all standards, policies, protocols, processes and procedures as defined by Information Services.
  4. Provides or coordinates all PACS training of Medical Imaging staff, alternative system administrators, Information Services, physicians and other care givers. Documents training plans and materials as needed.
  5. Available during off hours for technologist and radiologist support.
  6. On-site availability 50-60%of the time and the rest remote support.
  7. Works with Radiology staff and students to better utilize PACS systems.
