Job description

The Packing Production Line position in a food manufacturing facility plays a critical role in ensuring that food products are properly packaged and prepared for distribution. The primary responsibility of this position is to operate machinery and equipment to package food products safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety regulations.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Operate packaging machinery such as filling machines, sealing machines, labelers, and conveyor systems to package food products according to production schedules.
  • Monitor the packaging process to ensure products meet quality standards, including weight, size, and packaging integrity. Report any discrepancies or defects immediately.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety training programs.
  • Regularly inspect packaged products for quality, proper labeling, and packaging conformity. Remove any substandard items from the production line.
  • Ensure a continuous supply of packaging materials, such as containers, labels, and film, to keep the production line running smoothly. Report any material shortages to the supervisor.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of packaging equipment and work area according to established food safety standards. Perform routine cleaning tasks and assist in equipment changeovers.
  • Collaborate with fellow operators, machine technicians, and quality control personnel to resolve issues, improve efficiency, and achieve production goals.
  • Identify and troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and assist maintenance personnel when necessary. Report major equipment issues to the supervisor. Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards. Participate in training programs related to food safety and quality control.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining product quality.Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
 
Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing or packaging preferred.
  • Familiarity with packaging machinery and equipment is a plus.
  • English language is preferred.
  
Physical Requirements:
While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all equipment of the workstation and other areas as needed. Frequent lifting, bending and twisting. Lifting up to 30 lbs. required to complete daily tasks.
