Job description

Job Title: Production Worker – Poultry Processing

Job Description

This role is part of a large poultry processing operation, working on the production line in the processing area with no exposure to live chickens or the live-hang portion of the facility. You will contribute directly to preparing and packaging poultry products that are distributed to major national food retailers and restaurant chains. The position involves fast-paced, physically demanding work and offers opportunities for long-term employment and advancement into leadership roles.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a high-speed production line in the poultry processing area with no exposure to live birds.
  • Sort raw chicken products according to quality and specification requirements.
  • Package raw chicken products accurately and efficiently to meet production targets.
  • Trim excess fat or bone from chicken pieces to meet product standards.
  • Perform general production and general labor tasks as assigned to support continuous operations.
  • Load and move product, materials, and finished goods as needed on the production floor.
  • Inspect product visually during sorting and packaging to ensure quality and food safety standards.
  • Operate basic production line machinery and equipment as directed and follow all operating procedures.
  • Maintain a fast work pace while standing for 8–10 hours per shift.
  • Lift items weighing up to at least 70 pounds safely and repeatedly as required.
  • Fully extend arms and shoulders and perform frequent squatting, bending, and stooping to complete tasks.
  • Follow all safety, hygiene, and production protocols in a wet, high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and line leads to meet production goals and shift targets.
  • Arrive on time and be prepared for work, including leads arriving 15 minutes prior to shift start when applicable.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to work at a fast pace on a production line for 8–10 hours per shift.
  • Capability to lift at least 70 pounds safely and repeatedly.
  • Ability to fully extend arms and shoulders and perform squatting, bending, and stooping throughout the shift.
  • Previous poultry processing experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing or production environment experience.
  • Basic proficiency in general production, packaging, packing, loading, and inspection tasks.
  • Comfort working in a wet, high-speed production environment.
  • Reliability and consistency in attendance for 2nd shift hours (2:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.).

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.30 - $18.30/hr.
