Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

This role involves working on production lines to support general labour activities such as packing, boxing, and packaging finished goods. You contribute directly to efficient production by handling products, operating basic machinery, and maintaining a consistent workflow across different areas of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labour tasks including packing, boxing, and packaging products on the production line.
• Handle products safely and efficiently while maintaining a steady pace throughout the shift.
• Lift and move items weighing up to 30–50 lbs as part of daily production and loading activities.
• Work comfortably on repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail and product quality.
• Operate basic production and packaging machinery as required, following all safety procedures.
• Load and unload trays, racks, and product containers on various production lines.
• Align trays and cups, and place products accurately for baking, cooling, or packaging processes.
• Remove finished product trays from lines and transfer items into appropriate packaging or boxes.
• Perform quality checks on products to ensure they meet established standards before boxing and shipment.
• Support packaging and boxing operations for muffins, crumpets, cakes, bagels, English muffins, cookies, and related items.
• Adapt to working in multiple plants and on different product lines as part of cross-training.
• Follow all health and safety guidelines, housekeeping standards, and production procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and timelines.
• Report any equipment issues or product defects promptly to maintain smooth operations.

Essential Skills

• Demonstrated general production or general labour experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
• Experience with packaging, packing, and boxing products on a production line.
• Ability to lift and move up to 30–50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Comfort working with repetitive tasks while maintaining focus and accuracy.
• Basic machine operating experience in a production setting.
• Ability to perform loading and unloading tasks safely and efficiently.
• Reliability and punctuality to support continuous production operations.
• Ability to follow instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines.

Work Environment

You work across multiple production plants, each focused on different baked goods, and you receive cross-training to support various areas. The main assignment is on the cakes line for a new brownie product, but you need to be comfortable working in all buildings. Plant 1 focuses on muffins in a non-hot environment, where you align trays, cup products, remove trays, and box items. Plant 2 produces crumpets and similar products, with an emphasis on packaging and boxing in a non-hot environment. Plant 3 handles cakes packaging, bagels, and English muffins in a hotter environment, where you load and unload bagel trays and package cakes into boxes. Plant 4 produces cookies in a mildly hot environment, with responsibilities including packaging, quality assurance, and boxing. The role involves standing for long periods, performing repetitive tasks, and working near production machinery and conveyors in a typical food manufacturing setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ancaster, ON.

The pay range for this position is $20.70 - $21.30/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Ancaster,ON.
