Job description

Job Title: Packaging Operator
Location: Lakewood, New Jersey
Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $22.50/hr
Contractor Work Model: Onsite - onsite
Hours: 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm
Packaging Operator Responsibilities:
  • Operate manual or semiautomatic systems processing chemical substances into industrial or consumer products such as sealants, adhesives, mortars, primers, and intermediates.
  • Load specified amounts of solid materials into heating/cooling vessels or blending tanks and set controls in specified sequences to start automatic feed.
  • Monitor chemical reactions, gauges, signals, and recorders; receive notifications to make operating adjustments.
  • Draw samples for quality control analysis and perform chemical tests/QC checks to ensure product conforms to specifications using standard test equipment, materials, and procedures.
  • Use a forklift to package, palletize, shrink-wrap, and stage products into a staging area or directly onto trucks for transportation to external warehouses.
  • Perform minor maintenance of equipment, workstations, and manufacturing areas; maintain good housekeeping and adhere to all safety rules.
  • Assist with special projects as needed and ensure conformance with safety regulations.
Packaging Operator Requirements:
  • High School graduate; trade school certification in electronics or related field preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend documents in English.
  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and resolve technical problems in the work area.
