Job description

JOB SUMMARY
The Packaging Technician will work with the Whirlpool Senior Packaging Engineer to evaluate packaging for improvements in design and quality, ensuring the safe transit of finished goods to the end user.
1st shift - M-F 6am-2pm
Pay: 23.00+ DOE
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate alongside the Senior Packaging Engineer to optimize current packaging, assess weak points, and implement strategies to mitigate damage
  • Update Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Validate packaging BOH (Balance on Hand) as needed
  • Identify opportunities to move stock from POD to raw inventory
  • Pull stock and complete analysis as needed - which could include photographing material contents, drop testing, validating kit contents to BOM
  • Ensure the safe operation and basic maintenance of mechanical, motorized, or electrical packaging equipment in the facility
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS
    • 1-3 years' relevant experience
    • Basic mathematical skills
    • Ability to interpret documents
    • Working knowledge of Google suite and Microsoft Excel

    Preferred:
    • Packaging or manufacturing experience
    • Warehouse experience
    • Working knowledge of SAP and/or AS400 WMS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Work requires some muscular exertion and/or physical strain such as standing for long periods of time, recurring bending, lifting, or lowering of items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires frequent walking, carrying, reaching, standing, and stooping.
  • Requires lifting/lowering, pushing, or pulling of various items of varying weight.
  • Requires work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures.
