Signing Bonus for qualified candidate: $5,000


Background check, US Citizenship, CAC, and a confidential Security Clearance are required for this position. Travel is 30%.


TMMG is seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented Business Development Manager (BDM) with extensive proven experience in the DHS/DOW market space. Qualified candidates must bring 10+ years of business development experience in the DOW/DHS market. Primary markets include Fleet Maintenance and Technical Support, Shipbuilding, NAVSEA, and Naval Surface Warfare Centers. The BDM will help manage the pipeline, identify and pursue new business opportunities, build client relationships, and drive revenue growth through strategic planning and sales initiatives.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

Business Development Manager is responsible for expanding TMMG’s customer base in traditional and non-traditional market areas for TMMG. Core duties include:

• Identifying new business opportunities through market research, competitor analysis, and networking to target potential clients and markets.

• Developing and implementing strategic business plans to achieve growth objectives and align with company goals.

• Building and maintaining client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and exploring opportunities for growth in current portfolio while leading a team to win full and open opportunities.

• Generating leads and prospects via cold calling, networking, attending industry events, and client relationships.

• Collaborating with TMMG leadership and sales and marketing teams to create effective campaigns and sales strategies.

• Assist with proposal team and contracting team on new captures and assist in executive team strategic planning.

• Monitoring performance metrics and reporting progress to senior management, ensuring targets and revenue goals are met.

• Preparing presentations and proposals to communicate short- and long-term plans to support TMMG current and future financial forecasts.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client engagement, team collaboration, and persuasive presentations.

• Proven BD metrics in terms of revenue, size of captures and market growth in DHS/DOW market.

• Utilization of GovWin and other BD tools

• Analytical skills to assess market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.

• Adaptability and prior military/Government experience highly desired

• Leadership abilities for managing teams or assisting in team planning and financial forecasting

Work Environment and Reporting

BDM will report to COO and CEO and desired location is Chesapeake, VA. Travel 30% plus is likely to support aggressive pipeline development and customer engagements. Remote or hybrid work options may be considered based on individuals’ experience and proven results. This role is performance-driven, requiring self-motivation, resilience, and a results-oriented mindset, as success is often measured by revenue growth, client acquisition, and market expansion.

Supervisory responsibilities:

• It is possible that individual may manage small administrative staff less than 5


Physical Job Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

• Must be able to access and inspect all areas of machinery.


Education/Certification Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business or combination of degrees with Business Development experience will be reviewed.
