Position Summary
Under the direction of the Delivery Supervisor, the Class A Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and professional operation of Pacific Beverage Company commercial motor vehicles and company equipment. This position delivers beverage products to customer locations, supports accurate delivery documentation, rotates product in customer storage areas, and provides professional customer service while working in a fast-paced delivery environment.
This position is specifically intended to support delivery operations in Santa Margarita, CA, with assigned routes servicing North County San Luis Obispo to Paso Robles. Candidates must be able to reliably report to the assigned Santa Maria area work location and service accounts within the assigned delivery territory.

What You Will Be Doing
- Create and maintain positive customer relationships on behalf of Pacific Beverage Company with accounts, supplier representatives, and the general public.
- Operate commercial motor vehicles safely and professionally in accordance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Apply knowledge of commercial driving and safely maneuver vehicles in heavy traffic, inclement weather, restricted loading dock areas, and other challenging delivery conditions.
- Transport beverage products to assigned customer locations according to route schedules, delivery windows, and customer requirements.
- Ensure loads are balanced, secured, and accounted for before and during delivery.
- Unload products from the delivery vehicle and deliver them into customer locations using a two-wheel hand truck, pallet jack, or other approved equipment.
- Lift, move, and handle cases, kegs, and other beverage products safely and according to company procedures.
- Verify product condition, salability, and code dates during delivery and rotation activities.
- Stock merchandise onto shelves and rotate products in customer storage areas, including back-room coolers, following applicable product rotation standards.
- Comply with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements related to the handling, delivery, storage, and distribution of beverage products.
- Verify customer credit status when applicable and contact the appropriate internal department for approval when delivery changes or exceptions are needed.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, stop information, invoice adjustments, product changes, return documentation, and customer transaction records.
- Communicate relevant market, delivery, customer, and account information to Sales Representatives and supervisors.
- Inspect vehicles before and after trips and complete required pre-trip, post-trip, Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR), Hours of Service, Electronic Logging Device (ELD), and other required documentation.
- Use company-required route systems, handheld devices, telematics, ELD systems, and other electronic tools to complete delivery and reporting requirements.
- Clean truck cab, bays, tools, and equipment according to company guidelines.
- May assist with building structurally sound and visually effective displays as required.
- Report accidents, incidents, unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, or damage involving company property in accordance with company safety policies.
- Comply with all federal, state, and company safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, delegated, or required to support business operations.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred; or related delivery, commercial driving, warehouse, beverage distribution, customer service, or equivalent work experience.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Must maintain a driving record that meets company-established guidelines.
- Must maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate and meet applicable FMCSA medical qualification requirements.
- Must comply with applicable DOT/FMCSA requirements, including drug and alcohol testing and FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements.
- Must provide required consent for FMCSA Clearinghouse queries and other required driver qualification processes.
- Must maintain required driver documentation, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections, DVIRs, Hours of Service records, ELD records, delivery documentation, and other required forms.
- Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles and company equipment in accordance with company policies and applicable safety regulations.
- Must be certified, or able to successfully obtain company-required certification, to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment in accordance with OSHA and company safety requirements.
- Ability to use company-required technology, which may include route systems, handheld devices, ELD systems, telematics, and other electronic tools.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, route information, delivery procedures, and company policies.
- Ability to complete routine reports, forms, delivery records, and correspondence accurately.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers, supervisors, coworkers, Sales Representatives, and other departments.
- Ability to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, money handling, weights, measurements, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply sound judgment and common-sense understanding to follow written, verbal, diagram-based, or schedule-based instructions.
- Ability to work independently, manage assigned routes, and resolve or escalate routine delivery and customer service issues appropriately.
- Ability to reliably report to the assigned Santa Maria area work location and service delivery routes in the North County San Luis Obispo to Paso Robles service area.
Physical Requirements
- This position requires extensive driving and physical delivery work.
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
- Ability to frequently use hands and arms to handle products, tools, equipment, paperwork, and vehicle controls.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move cases weighing approximately 25 to 40 pounds, including overhead lifting as needed.
- Ability to lift and move heavier products, including kegs weighing up to approximately 170 pounds, using proper techniques and equipment as applicable.
- Ability to push and/or pull a loaded two-wheel hand truck weighing up to approximately 340 pounds.
- Ability to step down safely while carrying product as part of delivery responsibilities.
- Specific vision abilities may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
- Work is performed in delivery vehicles, customer locations, warehouse areas, loading areas, and outdoor environments.
- Employees regularly work in outside weather and road conditions.
- Employees may be exposed to vehicle vibration, wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and moderate noise levels.
- Employees may spend part of the workday in refrigerated environments and may encounter slippery footing due to condensation.
- Employees must follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
