Job description

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Fee Motion Specialist manages the full lifecycle of attorney fee motions across state and federal matters - from drafting and filing to tracking and reporting. This role is the team's subject matter expert on fee motion procedure, driving accuracy and efficiency in a high-volume litigation environment. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Draft and finalize fee motions, memoranda of costs, declarations, and proposed orders under attorney supervision 
  • Collect billing records and supporting documentation from attorneys for fee applications 
  • File documents in state and federal courts via PACER/CM-ECF and applicable e-filing platforms 
  • Coordinate with opposing counsel on stipulations related to fee awards and payment schedules 
  • Own deadline management for all fee motion matters, including post-settlement procedures and hearing schedules 
  • Monitor active caseloads to proactively identify upcoming deadlines and escalate risks as needed 
  • Maintain accurate fee activity data in Salesforce, including amounts, status, and collection milestones 
  • Generate status reports covering open matters, deadlines, fee recovery progress, and recommendations 
  • Serve as the go-to resource for team members on fee motion procedures, court rules, and filing requirements 

Requirements

Required 

  • 2+ years in litigation support, paralegal, or legal operations with exposure to fee motions or cost recovery 
  • Knowledge of state and federal court rules governing fee motions and related filings 
  • Proficiency with PACER/CM-ECF and applicable state court e-filing platforms 
  • Experience with Salesforce or a comparable case management platform 
  • Strong drafting skills for fee motions, declarations, stipulations, and proposed orders 
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; strong organizational and deadline management skills 

Preferred 

  • Paralegal certificate or related degree 
  • Experience in FDCPA, FCRA, or plaintiff-side consumer litigation 
  • Familiarity with lodestar calculations and fee negotiation processes
