Job description

Job Title: RN – Perianesthesia (PACA) – PM Shift

Location: Chico, CA
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: PM Shift, 8 hours (Start time: 12:00 PM)
Pay Rate: $75/hr (all-inclusive)
Position Urgency: Normal


Level II Trauma Center providing comprehensive surgical, medical, and critical care services. The facility prides itself on a collaborative and patient-centered approach, ensuring the highest standard of care.
Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse in Perianesthesia (PACA) for PM shifts. This role covers both pre-operative and post-operative care for surgery patients, and occasionally pre-op care for GI procedures. Scrubs will be provided for the assignment.

The ideal candidate has prior experience in PACU/Pre-Op nursing, is familiar with EPIC EMR, and is certified in BLS. Preference will be given to nurses holding CPAN or CAPA certification.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and effective pre-operative and post-operative care to surgery patients.

  • Monitor patient status, including vital signs, anesthesia recovery, and post-procedure assessments.

  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other clinical staff to ensure continuity of care.

  • Document all patient care accurately in EPIC EMR.

  • Assist with occasional pre-op care of GI patients as needed.

  • Adhere to facility policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Participate in holiday coverage as required.


Minimum Requirements
  • Current California RN license.

  • Current BLS/CPR certification.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in perioperative or PACU nursing.

  • EPIC EMR experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Peri-Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) and/or Certified Ambulatory Peri-Anesthesia (CAPA).

  • Successful completion of previous travel assignments in PACU/Perianesthesia.


Shift Details & Benefits
  • Shift: PM (12:00 PM – 8:00 PM), 8 hours.

  • Guaranteed Hours: 40/week.

  • Overtime: Starts after 40 hours/week at all-inclusive rate + $10/hr.

  • Holiday Rate: All-inclusive + $10/hr.

  • On-Call: Not required.

  • Scrubs Provided: No additional uniforms needed.

  • W-2 Employees Only: only accepts agency W-2 staff.
