Job description

PPAP / Advanced Quality Engineer
$42 to $47 per hour | North Andover/Lawrence, MA | First Shift

Are you the person your team relies on to build and complete PPAP packages?

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a PPAP / Advanced Quality Engineer to take ownership of the Production Part Approval Process for new products and customer programs.

This is not an administrative quality coordinator position. The role is best suited for a Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer, Advanced Quality Engineer, or experienced Quality Specialist who has personally developed and submitted PPAP documentation.

The assignment is expected to last at least six months and may be extended or converted to a permanent position based on business needs and performance.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • First shift, generally 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Some flexibility with start and end times
  • Candidates seeking either 20 or 40 hours per week will be considered
  • Onsite in North Andover/Lawrence, Massachusetts

Your Primary Responsibility

You will take ownership of PPAP work that is currently being handled by operations leadership. You will manage PPAP preparation, documentation, internal coordination, and customer submission activities so new products can move confidently into production.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit complete PPAP packages
  • Create Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, and Control Plans
  • Support APQP and new product launch activities
  • Coordinate First Article Inspections
  • Perform Measurement System Analysis
  • Conduct Gage R&R and Cpk studies
  • Develop inspection plans and measurement methods
  • Interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications
  • Obtain material certifications and traceability documentation
  • Recommend new gaging and inspection equipment
  • Support manufacturing cell development
  • Identify and resolve manufacturing quality issues
  • Communicate with customers regarding PPAP requirements and approvals
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams
  • Maintain accurate project and quality documentation

Formal education is welcome, but practical PPAP experience and the ability to independently manage the process are more important.
