Position Overview
The Safety Manager serves as the Owner's representative for day-to-day safety oversight across complex capital construction projects. This role monitors contractor safety performance, ensures compliance with OSHA and project requirements, and supports the proactive identification and mitigation of field risks.
The Safety Manager partners with project teams and contractors to reinforce accountability, promote a strong safety culture, and ensure safe execution of work across all phases of construction.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine site safety observations and audits to identify hazards and verify compliance
  • Support incident, accident, and near-miss investigations, including documentation and corrective actions
  • Monitor contractor safety programs, training records, and documentation for compliance
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and field briefings to reinforce safety expectations
  • Ensure field compliance with OSHA standards, PPE requirements, and safe work practices
  • Collaborate with contractors and project teams to resolve safety issues and reduce risk
  • Track and report safety performance metrics and trends to the Owner and project leadership

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of construction safety or field safety management experience
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
  • Experience conducting site inspections, audits, and incident investigations
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety reporting tools preferred
  • Relevant certifications (OSHA 30, CSP, NEBOSH or equivalent) preferred
