Job Description

This is a senior, client-facing implementation and relationship management role. The Assistant Vice President serves as the primary implementation lead for a portfolio of corporate and financial institution clients, coordinating Sales, Product Management, Client Service, Operations, Technology, Compliance and other control partners. The role combines hands-on delivery ownership with portfolio oversight, stakeholder influence, issue resolution and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities
  • Own and lead a portfolio of complex or high-priority implementation projects covering account opening, cash management and electronic banking services, from initiation and scoping through readiness, go-live, stabilisation and formal handover.
  • Translate agreed customer solutions into clear implementation plans, milestones, dependencies, responsibilities and success criteria, using structured project management tools and disciplined governance.
  • Chair implementation working sessions and provide concise, decision-oriented updates to clients and senior internal stakeholders, including progress, risks, issues, dependencies and required escalations.
  • Act as the principal client contact during implementation, proactively managing expectations, communication, training and service readiness to support a consistent and positive client experience.
  • Drive timely resolution of cross-functional issues by coordinating relevant business, operations, product, technology and control partners, and escalating material blockers with clear impact assessment and recommended actions.
  • Monitor the implementation portfolio against service levels, milestones, quality standards and readiness criteria, taking corrective action where delivery is at risk and maintaining accurate implementation records.
  • Partner with Transaction Banking Cash Sales teams by providing implementation expertise on Electronic Banking and Cash Management products, onboarding requirements, solution feasibility and delivery considerations.
  • Ensure implementations comply with applicable policies, procedures, KYC requirements, regulatory obligations and internal operational risk controls, with complete documentation and appropriate evidence of approvals.
  • Identify recurring client or operational pain points and lead process improvements that enhance cycle time, control effectiveness, scalability and time to revenue.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of implementation standards, playbooks, templates, management information and lessons learned.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching and quality support to less experienced implementation colleagues, and contribute to capability building and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Support management with portfolio insights, capacity considerations, emerging risks, root-cause themes and opportunities to improve delivery performance.
Decision-making and accountability
  • Accountable for delivery quality and implementation outcomes across the assigned portfolio, within approved solution scope and governance.
  • Exercises judgement in prioritising concurrent client commitments, balancing urgency, client impact, control requirements and available capacity.
  • Recommends recovery actions, sequencing changes, escalation paths and process enhancements when delivery outcomes or controls are at risk.
  • Influences stakeholders across functions without relying on direct reporting authority.
Core skills and experience
  • Relevant experience in client implementation, account opening, cash management, electronic banking, transaction banking, client service or a related banking operations environment. Experience leading complex, cross-functional implementations is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated project and portfolio management capability, including planning, governance, risk and issue management, stakeholder communication and delivery against milestones or service levels.
  • Strong client management presence, with the ability to build credibility, manage difficult conversations and communicate clearly with both working-level and senior stakeholders.
  • Good working knowledge of commercial or corporate banking products, onboarding processes, company structures and KYC requirements.
  • Sound risk and control mindset, with disciplined attention to documentation, approvals, data quality and adherence to applicable policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify root causes and convert insights into practical action.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness and ownership.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, facilitation, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to coach colleagues, share knowledge and promote consistent implementation standards.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, collaborative and committed to continuous improvement.
Job Requirements

Preferred qualifications Degree or professional qualification in business, banking, finance, operations, project management or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Relevant project management, process improvement or banking operations certification is advantageous.

On-time and high-quality implementation of customer solutions, with effective management of milestones, dependencies and service levels. Improved implementation cycle time and time to revenue, without compromising risk, control or regulatory requirements. Positive client and stakeholder feedback, effective handover to the servicing model and minimal post-go-live disruption. Timely identification and resolution of risks and issues, supported by accurate records and transparent escalation. Measurable contribution to process improvement, implementation standards, portfolio visibility and team capability.
