What is an overnight summer camp?

An overnight summer camp is a supervised program for children and teenagers that takes place away from home, usually in a natural setting, where campers stay for several days or weeks. Campers sleep in cabins or tents and participate in a variety of recreational, educational, and social activities such as swimming, hiking, arts and crafts, sports, and team-building exercises. The experience is designed to foster independence, build friendships, and develop new skills in a fun and supportive environment. Trained staff members oversee the camp to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

To thrive as an Overnight Summer Camp Counselor, you need experience working with children, basic first aid/CPR certification, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with camp management software, safety protocols, and outdoor activity equipment is valuable.
