Position Description
We are seeking a full-time HVAC Sheet Metal Foreman to manage commercial mechanical construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing material management, personnel, schedules, and communication with the project management team, customers, and building officials. The ideal candidate will have significant experience fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products and equipment, such as ducts, control boxes, drainpipes, and furnace casings. The foreman will also lead project crews while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of project schedules, milestones, submittals, contract documents (addenda, specifications, drawings), and in-house shop drawings.
  • Coordinate with other trades to complete HVAC/piping installations within the project scope and timeline.
  • Supervise project crews to install various types of HVAC and duct systems.
  • Ensure the safe performance of personnel and equipment on-site.
  • Promote and enforce the company tool policy while mentoring less experienced employees.
  • Accurately and promptly complete paperwork, including daily reports, next-week plans, accident reports, and disciplinary reports.
  • Install ductwork according to SMACNA standards, as well as ATU, RTU, and split systems.
  • Inspect installations and assemblies for compliance with specifications and standards.

Education, Training, Licenses, and Certifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanical foreman on commercial HVAC construction projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and follow detailed instructions.
  • Master or Journeyman HVAC Tradesman Certification preferred but not required.
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to work 40 hours per week with overtime as needed.
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in installing ductwork per SMACNA standards, ATU, RTU, and split systems.

Other Requirements
  • Punctual and dependable, demonstrating a professional demeanor with a positive, caring attitude.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a cooperative and teachable attitude.
  • Compliance with company safety policies and promotion of a safe work environment.
  • Ability to travel to job sites and occasionally stay overnight as required.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently without supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure effective decision-making.
  • Physical ability to stand, squat, bend, kneel, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs comfortably.
  • Possession of hand tools and power tools.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driver qualification policies.
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and post-employment fitness test in compliance with the company's Substance Abuse Policy.
