Job Overview:

(PLP Co.) is seeking motivated individuals to join our pavement marking crew. As an Asphalt Line Striper, you'll work with a team specializing in the application and removal of pavement markings for roadways, parking lots, and airports using advanced materials like epoxy, thermoplastic, and waterborne paint. This union position offers in-field training, career advancement, and the chance to master the latest technologies in a supportive environment.

This role is based out of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, with daily dispatch from our office. Expect long days, weekend shifts, and frequent night work during our peak season (March-December).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Layout and install pavement markings on roadways, parking lots, and airports.
  • Ensure all work complies with DOT standards and quality guidelines.
  • Measure, calculate, and record quantities of markings using engineered plans and digital tools like Google Earth.
  • Perform traffic control, including flagging and mobile lane closures.
  • Operate specialized equipment such as thermoplastic trucks, water blasting trucks, epoxy trucks, and grinding/grooving trucks.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, perform standard maintenance, and ensure equipment is ready for use.
  • Load and unload materials and transport them using company vehicles.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and complete related certifications (e.g., flagging, OSHA 10).
  • Travel to project sites with occasional overnight stays.


Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Previous experience in pavement marking, highway construction, or related fields.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technology.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record; CDL preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs., standing, climbing, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must join Laborers Local Union #Joveo and comply with union terms.
  • Flagging Certification or Traffic Control Technician Certification (or willingness to obtain).
