Job description

Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology

This is a fast-paced pre/post interventional radiology department in a level 1 Trauma center. We cater to inpatient and outpatient populations across the lifespan. Nurses work within a multidisciplinary team and are responsible for the pre-procedural preparation of patients and post-procedural recovery and overnight observation care. Experience with GI post-procedural care is preferred but not required.

Exciting opportunity for nurses who want to work in the high energy environment of Diagnostic Imaging. We specialize in providing care for patients undergoing CT scans, MRIs, Nuclear Medicine scans, X-ray and ultrasound. Good communication skills, as well as the ability to critically think, are essential. If you are team-oriented, enthusiastic, flexible, and organized, come join our team!

Responsibilities
  • Provide pre-procedural preparation for patients.
  • Deliver post-procedural recovery care and 23-hour observation for IR patients.
  • Care for patients boarding overnight pre or post-procedure.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ensure good communication and critical thinking in patient care.
Schedule

This position involves a rotating shift schedule of 4x10 hours, with floating, holidays, weekends, and on-call/callback requirements.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • 2 years of Registered IR Nursing experience.
  • Telemetry experience required.
  • New York RN license (only).
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
  • ACLS certification (American Heart Association only).
