Job description

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking an Overnight Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team at a drug and alcohol treatment facility. The RN will be responsible for providing patient care, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and delivering nursing care during the night shift in this specialized setting.

Discovery Institute is a 120-bed inpatient substance abuse treatment facility providing exceptional services for individuals with substance use disorders. We provide medical care to 38 detox patients. Individuals applying have a passion for helping those heal from addictive disorders, and find it rewarding in knowing clients, families, and communities benefit from the treatment we provide.


**Qualifications:**
- Valid RN license
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or relevant field
- Proven experience as an RN, preferably in a behavioral health or substance abuse treatment facility
- Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and able to work in a fast-paced environment
**Responsibilities:**
- Monitor patient health and record signs during the night shift
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with treatment plans
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to plan and adjust patient care strategies
- Educate patients and their families on substance abuse treatment and recovery
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Follow facility policies and procedures related to patient care and confidentiality
- Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during the night hours
**Additional Skills:**
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, especially in crisis situations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, providing support to other overnight staff
