Peer Support Behavioral Center is seeking both full-time and part-time Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) to join our dedicated team. This remote position plays a crucial role in providing therapeutic services and support to individuals dealing with mental health challenges. As an LPC, you will guide clients toward emotional wellness, assisting them in establishing healthier lifestyles while working within the framework of an innovative community health clinic.

Located in the vibrant city of San Antonio, Texas, Peer Support Behavioral Center is a multifaceted community health clinic that specializes in providing comprehensive care to our community. Beyond mental health, we offer services in obstetrics, pediatrics, general medicine, family planning, and dentistry. This role is designed for a remote setting, allowing you the flexibility to connect with clients from the comfort of your home or office. Our team utilizes various telehealth tools to facilitate counseling sessions and maintain contact with both patients and primary care providers effectively. You will collaborate as part of an interprofessional team committed to holistic patient care.

• Collaborate with primary care providers to identify and manage mental health issues within the clinic.
• Conduct thorough patient intakes and assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and functional assessments, to develop tailored treatment plans.
• Implement brief, focused interventions to support patients in crisis and facilitate immediate stabilization.
• Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss treatment plans, patient progress, and necessary referrals to specialty mental health services.
• Follow up with patients to monitor their progress and reassess treatment strategies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and progress notes in accordance with established guidelines.
• Design relapse prevention plans and assist patients in enhancing their skills for stable functioning.
• Educate patients on self-management techniques and healthy coping strategies to empower their recovery journey.
• Provide input and consultation regarding behavioral health services to clinic management and other team members.
• Ensure ethical standards are met by adhering to the Code of Ethical Conduct for Clinical Professionals.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned to meet the clinic’s day-to-day needs.

The ideal candidate will engage with a diverse patient population, including individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, trauma, and a variety of psychosocial issues. You will be instrumental in helping patients navigate their mental health challenges and achieve sustainable well-being while ensuring continuity of care with their primary care providers.

• A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling or a related field is required.
• A current LPC license in the State of Texas.
• Demonstrable understanding of mental health assessment techniques, treatment planning, and various therapeutic modalities, including individual and group therapy.
• A familiarity with developmental psychopathology and DSM-IV diagnoses is essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with patients.
• Knowledge of community resources available for behavioral health support and how to effectively utilize them.
• Effective problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to patient care.

• Bi-lingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred, enhancing our ability to serve a broader client base.
• Experience working within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting is a plus.
• Previous experience with telehealth technologies and remote counseling methods is advantageous.

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 87,000 to 105,000 annually, dependent on experience and qualifications.
