Centipede Peer To Peer, LLC values integrity, empathy, and practical solutions that make a tangible difference in people’s lives.

Role Description The Peer Support Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Stockton, CA, focused on providing one-on-one and group support to individuals using lived experience and empathetic listening. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with participants, helping them identify goals, offering emotional support, and connecting them to appropriate resources and services. The role involves documenting interactions, tracking progress, and communicating clearly with participants, colleagues, and supervisors to ensure coordinated care. The Peer Support Specialist will assist with basic troubleshooting of service-related issues, provide customer support in person and by phone, and contribute to improving peer support processes through feedback and collaboration. This position requires maintaining professional boundaries, respecting confidentiality, and fostering a safe, non-judgmental environment for all participants.

Qualifications

  • Strong Communication and Support skills, with the ability to listen actively, convey information clearly, and build trust with diverse individuals.
  • Analytical Skills to assess participant needs, interpret information, and help develop practical action plans and problem-solving approaches.
  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting capabilities to assist participants with basic technology or service-related issues and ensure smooth access to resources.
  • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in peer support, social services, mental health, or community outreach is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in peer support or related fields is a plus.
  • Ability to work in the field in Stockton, CA, maintain confidentiality, and follow organizational policies and procedures.
