Digital Signal Processing Ultrasound Engineer - Medical Device (San Diego, CA)
You will be at the forefront of the design/development of our next generation Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) products that are helping to save lives around the world.
Your role:
  • Applying acoustic wave propagation and signal processing theory to the design and specification of new imaging algorithms and imaging sub-systems.
  • Leading development and implementation of new ultrasound imaging capabilities, including development plans, algorithm design, integration strategy, and SW implementation.
  • Participate in the design, development, and integration of new ultrasound systems and transducers.
  • Tune IVUS systems for optimum image quality on a range of transducers and imaging features. Also, work closely with customers to understand their needs and evaluation of new designs.
  • Help translate marketing/customer requirements into engineering specifications.

You're the right fit if:
  • You have 5+ years of experience in the field of medical imaging research and/or product development with the majority being in the development of Ultrasound Imaging Systems.
  • You've earned a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field. PhD desired.
  • You are an expert in MATLAB.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • You have the ability to plan, lead, and execute laboratory research and experimentation.

Philips Transparency Details:
The pay range for this position is $110,000 to $177,000, annually. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
