GD Resources LLC is seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Engineering Technician (BMET) ย to support the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 20) Biomedical Engineering Department.
This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) services on a wide range of advanced medical equipment across multiple VA healthcare facilities. The technician will ensure equipment safety, reliability, and compliance with OEM standards and VA healthcare requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) on biomedical and clinical equipment in accordance with OEM specifications and VA policies
- Diagnose, repair, calibrate, and maintain a broad range of medical devices and systems
- Ensure timely completion of work orders with an average CM turnaround time of 8 days
- Complete all scheduled PM services within required monthly deadlines
- Travel to multiple VA facilities across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, and surrounding regions
- Document all service activities using detailed Field Service Reports and Work Order Reports
- Communicate effectively with VA COR, Biomedical Engineers, and facility staff
- Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards in clinical environments
- Provide on-call phone support during normal working hours (7:30 AM โ 4:00 PM Pacific Time)
- Support installation, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of complex medical systems
Supported Equipment Includes (but not limited to)- Patient monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, defibrillators
- Ultrasound systems (GE, Philips, Sonosite, Acuson, etc.)
- Imaging systems (X-ray, radiographic units, mobile imaging systems)
- Laboratory analyzers, centrifuges, microtomes
- Surgical and diagnostic equipment
- Physiological monitoring systems
- ICU and emergency care biomedical devices
Minimum Qualifications- Associate degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Biomedical Electronics, Electronics Technology, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance or related technical service role (hospital or clinical environment preferred)
- Experience servicing medical equipment such as patient monitors, ventilators, infusion systems, imaging systems, or laboratory devices
- Ability to follow OEM repair procedures and technical documentation
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and field service skills
Additional Requirements- Must be able to travel frequently across VISN 20 healthcare facilities at the following states : ID, MT, OR, WA, AK
- Must pass VA background investigation and fingerprinting prior to start
- Must comply with VA security and credentialing requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in clinical and technical environments
- Must maintain professionalism in patient care areas and sensitive healthcare environments
