Job Description

The Medical University of South Carolina’s MUSC Health Infectious Disease Columbia is seeking a BC/BE Infectious Disease Physician to join a growing community-based health system in Columbia, South Carolina. The chosen candidate will provide comprehensive infectious disease services and high quality, compassionate care to patients in the Midlands region of South Carolina and beyond.  Experienced or graduating fellows are welcome!

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease.

  • Completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency program and Infectious Diseases Fellowship.

  • Must hold a valid unrestricted South Carolina Medical License. 

  • Strong clinical, and communication skills.

  • Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Position Highlights:

  • Full-time practice opportunity due to upcoming retirement of team member.

  • Additionally hiring an APP due to volume growth.

  • The position will include both inpatient and outpatient consultative services.

  • Coverage includes two acute-care hospitals and one outpatient practice located near both hospitals.

  • Clinical support of OPAT with a dedicated MA.

  • Work with adults, ages 18+ with both acute and chronic infectious diseases, occasional transplant patients, HIV and Hep C/B care at the discretion of the provider.

  • No overnight or weekend call.

  • Active Hospitalist Program.

  • Access to our Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacists.

  • Work closely with Infection Prevention.
