About This Role

Summary

The King Air/C-12 Multi-Engine Instructor Pilots will work directly for the C-12 Chief Pilot and will be responsible for student pilot training in the C-12U and associated training devices, supporting the Army Fixed Wing Program and other programs as they develop.  Instruct classes for C-12U Aircraft Systems and Operational Procedures in the aircraft during fight, classroom, simulators, or practical environments as required.  Assist as Subject Matter Expert in development of curriculum for new type courses as required.  May provide additional special services such as courseware review and other additional administrative duties such as publications, safety, quality audits, FCIF, scheduling. The Instructor will ensure a safe and secure work environment is maintained. CAE will provide training in the C-12U including Upset Prevention and Recovery Training certification by APS (Aviation Performance Solutions).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs duties as Instructor Pilot, Classroom Instructor, and Simulator Instructor as required.
  • Assures compliance with applicable standards (i.e. AR 95-20, AR 95-1 and FAA Part 141 Formal School requirements).
  • Actively participates in the Quality Management System, quality procedures and safety programs with those respective leads in the same organization.
  • Keeps current with changes and modifications to external standards.
  • Identifies and implements strategies for compliance.
  • Supports the standardization, evaluation, examiner plan to include scheduling of internal and external audits, maintenance of the tracking database, follow up on deficiencies, and reporting.
  • Interfaces with appropriate members of the program, customer, and CAE USA staff to proactively identify and address quality assurance issues and ensure that all quality requirements are met.
  • Interfaces with various departments, management, and staff to identify and execute process improvement opportunities.
  • Conducts business in strict compliance with all corporate policies and procedures and applicable state and federal regulations.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Six years total flying experience, with at least 1000 hours as Pilot in Command and 500 hours as a Flight Instructor, of which 250 hours must have been instructing in multiengine airplanes. 

  • Must hold a FAA Certified Flight Instructor multi-engine, and Instrument Instructor rating with the associated Commercial Pilot ratings.

  • Instructor Pilot for the US Army, USAF, USN, or USMC experience is highly preferred
  • An FAA Commercial, multi-engine airplane, Instrument rating and Certificated Flight Instructor ratings in all these categories or able to obtain such by the hire date.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a FAA Class II Flight Medical Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred      
  • Must have strong project instructional skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Must be able to effectively deliver oral presentations to students in a classroom or simulator environment.
  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required.
  • Must be willing to work any shift or day of the week as required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • FAA commercial pilot with airplane multiengine land and instrument airplane ratings
  • FAA Commercial, Multi-Engine, Instrument Airplane rating and Certificated Flight Instructor in all 3 of these categories/ratings or can readily obtain through a military competency process with the FAA.
  • Current Multi-Engine Instructor/Instrument (ME II) certificate

Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.   Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form.  Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know.  Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.   All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for a DoD Personal Secret Security Clearance.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Domestic and international travel as required.
  • Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladder into a simulator or airplane cockpit.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top of or under machinery.
  • Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and its surrounding environment
  • Work in a regular office environment; communicate via personal computer, telephone and fax.
  • Will be working in areas with risk of electrical shock from moving mechanical parts driven by hydraulics under high pressure.
  • Will at times be exposed to the following conditions: extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises.
