Position: Fixed Wing Pilot Instructorย ย 

Location:ย Floatย 

Schedule:2 weeks on 2ย weeks off / 1 week on 1 week offย 

Annual Salary Range:Current base pay plus incentivesย 

Guardian Flight is looking to hire an experienced Fixed Wing Pilot Instructor to join our team.ย The Pilot Instructor will conduct training for Guardian Flight's fleet ofย Pilatus PC12ย aircraft.ย Training will be conducted in the classroom,ย simulator,ย and in-flight for both initial and recurrent courses.ย 

The instructor will ensure new hire pilots areย properly trainedย and competent with the knowledge to conduct air medical flight operationsย in accordance withย the company Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, Standard Operating Procedures manual,ย appropriate FARs, Airplane Flight Manuals and any other company policies. The instructor willย be responsible forย confirming thatย the ground training is completed.ย 

Additionally, after gaining experience in Guardian Flight operations, the Pilot Instructor will conductย flight training and performย check rides per FAR 135.293, .297 and .299.ย 

Qualifications:ย 

  • A minimum ofย 2,500 hoursย of flight time.ย 
  • 1000 Hours PIC airplane.ย 
  • 500 Cross-country.ย 
  • 100 Night hours.ย 
  • 100 Hours of actual or simulated instrument time, of which at leastย 75 hoursย of that time was in actual flight.ย 
  • Must have commercial, instrument and multi-engine land.ย 
  • FAA Second Class Medical issued within the preceding twelve calendar months.ย 
  • Multi-Engine Commercial (ATP Preferred).ย 
  • CFI preferred.ย 
  • Must have an unexpired/valid driver's license.ย 
  • Instructing background and experience heavily weighted.ย 
  • Familiarity with Garmin avionicsย required.ย 

Responsibilities:ย 

  • Ground trainingย forย new-hire and recurrent pilot training.ย 
  • Performs duties asย a simulatorย instructor for both initial and recurrent training courses.ย 
  • For training in theย aircraft, ensures proper coordination with trainee pilot's performance ofย aircraftย pre-flight inspection, equipment loading, weight & balanceย computations,ย and weather briefing for the assigned flight.ย 
  • Maintains ongoing knowledge of relevant aviation regulations,ย aircraftย operational/equipmentย changes,ย and company policies.ย 
  • Performs maintenance check flights andย aircraftย repositioning flights between maintenance bases and operational remote bases.ย 
  • Assistsย in the coordination,ย distributionย and development of pilot training materials, including PowerPoint classroom presentations, training manuals, curriculum guides, homeworkย exercisesย and associated training management forms.ย

Preferred Education:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or higher.ย 

Working Conditions:ย 

  • Required to work in outside weather conditions.ย 
  • Must be able to work night, day, and overnight shifts as assigned.
  • May need to de-ice the plane, assist with towing the aircraft and maneuvering in and out of the hangar, prep the plane for flight.ย
