Job description

A Little About
Oats Overnight is on a mission to build a generational CPG brand. Since 2016, our high-protein, drinkable oatmeal has reached over a million customers through direct-to-consumer, and we're now scaling with all major nationwide retail and club partners. Our goal: become a household brand by leveraging speed, storytelling, and strategy.
We are vertically integrated: we develop, manufacture, and fulfill everything in-house. This operational control allows us to engage customers directly into the R&D process, an initiative where we were first-to-market in CPG. It also makes our brand tangible and real: our factory, our team, and our product pipeline are all part of the narrative.
This is an exciting stage - we are emerging as a significant omni-channel brand and launching new products to capture significant market share across verticals. We want you to help us get there.
Every teammate here has equity because we're building something big, and everyone plays an important role. If you're excited about building a brand that does things differently, this is that opportunity.
What's The Job
This is a high-visibility, cross-functional finance role sitting at the intersection of P&L ownership, FP&A, marketing analytics, and treasury. You'll own the financial engine behind our DTC Subscription channel - partnering directly with the VP of Finance and working closely with DTC, Marketing, Ops Finance, and Accounting to turn financial data into decisions that actually move the business. This role is built for someone who brings both the question and the answer.
What You'll Be Doing, Stop Scanning and Read This Part
P&L Ownership
  • Own the DTC Subscription P&L end-to-end - track revenue, margin, and contribution by channel, SKU, and customer cohort; surface variance drivers with clear business context
  • Own the DTC Subscription operating budget; hold cross-functional stakeholders accountable to spend and deliver variance analysis with clear commentary
  • Proactively identify margin and cost opportunities across fulfillment, returns, and COGS; size the impact and support execution

Forecasting & Planning
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting cycles; build and maintain rolling 12-month models that reflect real business assumptions, not just historical trends
  • Build cohort-level retention and reorder models to quantify subscriber economics and inform acquisition strategy
  • Design and maintain dashboards and reporting infrastructure that give leadership real-time visibility into DTC Subscription financial performance

Marketing Analytics
  • Partner with the DTC Subscription and marketing teams to measure and optimize performance across CAC, LTV, payback period, and ROAS - turning data into actionable spend recommendations
  • Monitor cohort-level retention and reorder models to quantify subscriber economics and inform strategy
  • Act as a financial thought partner to a fast-moving ECOM team that continuously tests and launches new customer acquisition models - rapidly sizing, evaluating, and iterating on financial implications as new offers, bundles, and channels go live

Treasury & Cash Flow Management
  • Monitor daily and weekly cash flow in close partnership with Ops Finance and Accounting, maintaining a consolidated view that reflects real-time DTC Subscription activity alongside broader company obligations
  • Integrate the Capex forecast from the Sr. Director of Ops Finance into rolling cash projections, ensuring planned capital expenditures are properly reflected in liquidity positioning
  • Pull and reconcile accounts receivable data from Shopify and QuickBooks to track collections timing, identify gaps, and keep cash forecasts current
  • Manage and report on corporate credit card utilization - track balances, payment timing, and available capacity as part of the short-term liquidity picture
  • Quantify the DTC Subscription channel's specific impact on cash flow: subscription billing cycles, refund and return timing, fulfillment payment lags, and seasonal demand swings that affect working capital
  • Serve as the connective tissue between DTC Subscription revenue activity and the company's overall cash position - translating channel-level performance into treasury-relevant signals for leadership
  • Other duties as assigned

What You've Done and Who You Are
  • 5+ years of financial analysis experience, ideally with direct exposure to a high-growth DTC Subscription business
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Someone that can partner and influence at all different levels
  • Deep fluency in contribution margin economics, customer cohort analysis, and paid media financials
  • Strong modeling skills in Excel/Google Sheets; experience with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, or similar) a plus
  • Hands-on experience with Shopify and QuickBooks for financial data extraction and reconciliation
  • Comfortable operating at both the strategic level (scenario planning, board prep) and in the weeds (reconciling actuals, cleaning data)
  • Actively leverages AI tools to accelerate analysis, automate recurring workflows, draft financial narratives, and scale output - treating AI as a core part of how you work, not an occasional shortcut
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and navigate in a fast-moving environment
  • A relentless drive to get things done.
  • Flexible, willing, and quick to learn new processes, new technology, and new ways of thinking.

Why You Might Like Working Here
  • This is going to be fun.
  • Casual, friendly culture. We're serious about what we do but we don't take ourselves too seriously.
  • Every employee has equity
  • High growth potential with opportunities to expand
  • Free oatmeal. It's very good.

Why You Might Not Like Working Here
  • It's not a cushy job, the bar is high
  • We are growing quickly, and have a fast-paced work environment.

Our Core Values
  • Ownership - We are all owners. We show up with passion and accountability in everything we do. If something's broken, fix it or call it out.
  • Rational - How we decide matters. We focus on what we can control and make high-quality decisions repeatedly.
  • Iterative - We challenge the status quo and improve constantly. When data or situations change, we adapt.
  • Curiosity - We ask questions, even when it's uncomfortable. Learning and leading go hand in hand.

Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • You must be able to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
  • You must be able to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards

The Perks
  • Full Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision and 401k
  • Parental Leave
  • 4 Weeks of paid time off
  • Weekly Pay
  • Stock options - every employee is an owner
  • Free, delicious oatmeal

And last but never least....
