Building trust and maintaining transparency through regular updates and documentation is crucial for successful remote collaborations.

Job description

Senior Analyst (Freelance)
  • Location: Remote (PST)
  • Engagement: Freelance
  • Reports To: Associate Director of Analytics

About Us
UNFOLD is an award-winning digital creative agency based in Los Angeles, partnering with some of the world's most dynamic entertainment and brand clients. We create culturally relevant, digitally driven work that connects audiences and brands across platforms.
The Role
Our Analytics team is seeking an experienced Senior Analyst to turn social, content, and audience data into clear strategic direction. With a strong understanding of social measurement, platform performance, and audience behavior, you will analyze performance trends, surface actionable insights, and help shape smarter content and campaign decisions.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in analytics or data strategy, including social media reporting across organic, paid, influencer, and owned channels. You are comfortable translating complex datasets into clear narratives, collaborating closely with strategy, creative, paid media, influencer, and account teams, and identifying not just what happened, but why it happened.
In this role, you will lead analysis across recurring reporting, content performance, and social listening. Responsibilities include building and QA'ing datasets, identifying repeatable performance patterns, and developing recommendations grounded in platform behavior, culture, and fan conversation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve campaign and content performance through sharp, insight-driven analysis.
Here's What You'll Do
Measurement & Reporting
  • Build reports across organic, paid, influencer, and owned social channels.
  • Create pivots, formulas, and QA processes for large datasets.
  • Track KPIs across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, X, Twitch, and other platforms.

Insights & Performance Analysis
  • Identify why content performs using creative, cultural, and platform-specific context.
  • Spot repeatable content patterns and recommend what to start, stop, and continue.
  • Translate quantitative and qualitative findings into clear, actionable recommendations.

Listening & Audience Intelligence
  • Analyze social listening data to uncover themes, narratives, and sentiment.
  • Turn fan conversation into insights that inform strategy and creative decisions.
  • Monitor platform shifts, trend signals, and audience behavior over time.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with strategy, creative, paid media, influencer, and account teams.
  • Present findings to stakeholders and defend recommendations with confidence.
  • Contribute insights that strengthen reporting, planning, and campaign optimization.

Here's What It Takes
  • 2-4 years of experience in analytics or data strategy.
  • Strong experience measuring and reporting on organic, paid, influencer, or owned social media.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including pivots and formulas.
  • Experience with tools such as Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Rival IQ, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Familiarity with social listening tools like Pulsar, Brandwatch, Talkwalker, Meltwater, or Sprinklr.
  • Strong understanding of social KPIs across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, X, and Twitch.
  • Deep knowledge of platform dynamics and algorithms, especially TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and X.
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into compelling stories and practical recommendations.
  • Strong attention to detail and disciplined data QA habits.
  • Comfort presenting insights to stakeholders and working across multiple teams.
  • Curiosity and initiative to uncover insights beyond surface-level metrics.
  • Awareness of platform updates, cultural trends, and industry shifts.

About Our Culture
UNFOLD is a minority-owned business led by two diverse founders who embrace diversity across all areas of the company. We are committed to building teams that reflect a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. Employment decisions are based on business needs, job requirements, qualifications, and performance.
