As an Overnight Custodian, you will provide custodial services at IRS facilities, ensuring clean, safe, and well-maintained environments for our clients. Working alongside Custodial Team Leads and fellow team members, you will play an important role in delivering exceptional service while supporting our mission of workforce development.

Compensation

This position offers a competitive base hourly wage, with pay determined by experience and qualifications. In addition to hourly pay, employees receive a Health & Wellness Benefit designed to help offset the cost of eligible healthcare premiums, providing additional support for your overall well-being.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Clean restrooms, including toilets, sinks, urinals, mirrors, floors, and fixtures using approved cleaning products and disinfectants.
  • Spot clean doors, partitions, walls, windows, and horizontal surfaces.
  • Restock paper products and other restroom supplies.
  • Empty trash and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Vacuum carpeted areas daily and shampoo as required by contract.
  • Sweep and mop hard surface floors daily; strip, wax, and buff floors as required.
  • Safely mix and use cleaning chemicals according to established procedures.
  • Follow all safety rules, policies, and regulations.
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude while representing Goodwill Central Texas.
  • Demonstrate ethical decision-making and comply with the organization's Corporate Compliance Program.
  • Attend required meetings and complete all mandatory annual training.
  • Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedules.


Additional Responsibilities

  • Support service recipients, supervisors, and Custodial Team Leads at assigned contract sites.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Required Qualifications

  • One to three months of custodial, cleaning, or related experience, or completion of an approved custodial training program.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, and move throughout buildings during the work shift.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, subject to the requirements of the assigned contract site.
  • Depending on the service contract, documentation of a qualifying disability may be required.
  • Must have a Selective Service registration number or qualifying exemption, if applicable.
  • Must maintain a valid government-issued photo ID.


Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of custodial experience in a commercial or federal contract environment.
  • Experience operating commercial floor care equipment, including buffers and floor machines.
