Job description

Midwest Refrigerated Services is a full-service 3PL company providing refrigerated logistics services for the food industry. Based in Milwaukee, WI, we operate the largest fresh 48 state LTL consolidation pool with more than 100+ trucks, and offer multiple sites with cooler, and air-conditioned storage, distribution, and cross-docking services. We work with some of the household names that your family puts on the dinner table every night. It’s an important job, one that makes a difference in your community.

CDL A Owner-Operators/Independent Contractors Pay Rate:

  • Competitive Percentage Pay at either 75% or 85% depending on if you pull our company trailer or pulling your own
  • Fuel Surcharge at either 90% or 100% to our drivers based on if you pull our company trailer or pulling your own
  • $5,000 retention bonus, $1,500 referral bonus
  • Drop pay is $125 per drop, after the 1st drop (Paid at 75% or 85% depending on if you haul our trailer or your own)
  • Paid Detentions and layovers if qualified
  • Comdata card
  • Fuel Discount Program- Save between .20 cents per gallon up to .90 cents per gallon using our Comdata platform
  • Settlements are paid weekly

CDL A Owner-Operators/Independent Contractors Work schedule:

  • Home weekly/biweekly or chose to stay out longer
  • Consistent outbound freight weekly with lane choices
  • No Force Dispatch
  • Live unloading and unloading
  • OTR Destinations are state specific, but routes vary week to week.
  • Driver Manager coordinates backhaul based on your preferences

  • We pay for BI - Annual DOT inspection paid for by MRS

  • Driver lounge complete with recliners, TV, pool table, kitchen, showers, laundry room and restrooms. Stocked with food weekly.

Prerequisites:

  • Possess & maintain a valid Class “A” CDL Commercial Driver License for at least 2 years.
  • Possess satisfactory, verifiable experience and/or appropriate training in Interstate Commercial Class “A” Vehicle Operation & the transportation of freight.
  • Meet the requirement of a Federal Medical Card & the Fit for Duty Standard
  • Must have a DOT Inspection on equipment prior to orientation.
  • Must be able to provide Title, 2290, and pictures of equipment.
