What You’ll Do

  • Provide skilled nursing care to hospice patients in an inpatient hospice house setting under the direction of the physician’s plan of care.
  • Deliver expert pain and symptom management for patients at end of life.
  • Perform ongoing comprehensive assessments and respond proactively to changes in patient condition.
  • Develop and update individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and families.
  • Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.
  • Collaborate closely with hospice aides, social workers, chaplains, providers, and volunteers.
  • Participate in admissions, discharges, and transitions of care within the hospice house

What You’ll Bring

  • Current R.N. license in the State of Maine.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Minimum one year of recent clinical nursing experience required (hospice, palliative care, oncology, ICU, or med-surg experience preferred).
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Compassionate presence and comfort working with patients and families at end of life.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based inpatient setting
