When Everyone Else Goes Home, the Dogs Are Counting on You.
Overnight animal care requires a particular kind of person.
Someone who understands that a dog behaving differently at 2:00 AM may be telling you something.
Someone who knows that feeding and medication instructions need to be followed exactly.
Someone who doesn't walk past something that needs cleaning because the morning crew will be there soon.
And someone who can be trusted to do the job properly even when a manager isn't standing in the room.
If you recognize yourself in that description, we'd like to meet you.
The Wags Club is an established cage-free dog daycare and boarding facility serving Santa Monica and West Los Angeles, and we're hiring Overnight Dog Care Attendants.
Overnight shift: 9:00 PM-7:00 AM
Both part-time and full-time schedules are available.
The Responsibility
Our clients go home at night trusting that their dogs will continue receiving attentive care.
You'll be one of the people responsible for keeping that promise.
You'll:
Supervise our boarding dogs throughout the night
Monitor health, behavior, comfort, and overall well-being
Recognize and report anything unusual
Follow feeding instructions accurately
Administer medications as directed
Maintain clean and sanitary play and sleeping areas
Complete laundry and facility-cleaning responsibilities
Keep dogs comfortable and settled overnight
Prepare the facility for the morning care team
Communicate important overnight information clearly
Experience Is Valuable. Judgment Matters Even More.
We'd especially like to hear from candidates with experience in:
Dog daycare or boarding
Veterinary hospitals or clinics
Kennels
Pet sitting
Animal shelters or rescues
Grooming facilities
Other professional animal-care environments
But experience alone doesn't make someone good at overnight care.
We need someone who's observant.
Someone who's dependable.
Someone who notices when something isn't right.
Someone who can solve routine problems independently while knowing when something needs to be escalated.
And someone who understands that being trusted to work independently is a responsibility, not an invitation to stop working.
If you don't have professional animal-care experience but that description sounds like you, we'd still encourage you to apply. We can teach procedures. Reliability and good judgment are much harder to teach.
