Job Description

As a Security Officer Patrol Customer Engagement in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitor access points, and support a welcoming environment for tenants and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while documenting security-related activities. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, access concerns, property alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial property buildings, lobbies, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access points and observe visitor, contractor, and delivery activity in accordance with site-specific procedures.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and observations accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and property management personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
