D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an IT Director. The right candidate will manage and direct the company's information technology (IT) operations.  Responsible for ensuring the IT organization provides efficient and effective technical support service to support the business objectives of the company.  Analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements and additional needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead development and implementation processes reflecting best practices to deliver the greatest value for the company's IT systems and IT organization
  • Provide strategic planning and leadership on projects, directing the team's efforts towards successful completion while meeting goals
  • Analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements and other needs
  • Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss
  • Oversee Full Life Cycle Application development
  • Regularly evaluate the organization's current systems to find risks, vulnerabilities and improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to understand their IT requirements, needs and preferences
  • Oversee security of systems, networks and company information
  • Manage IT teams including developers, security, support technicians and vendors
  • Meet with the CIO and the executive team to propose and recommend any new hardware or software to help the company meet company goals
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the current and up-and-coming trends in the IT industry
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers
  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
  • Ability to travel overnight

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field from a four-year college or university
  • Eight years of experience in information technology
    • Data Networks (Cisco, F5, Firewalls)
    • Server Infrastructure/Operations (Windows, Linux, Kubernetes)
    • Data Center Management
    • Helpdesk/ITSM
  • Five years of experience managing an IT department
  • Strong leadership abilities to effectively delegate tasks
  • Excellent communication abilities to define organizational goals to teams
  • Proficient in latest technology for IT systems and management
  • Strong customer service skills required
  • Excellent organizational skills and provide attention to detail
  • Superb analytical skills
  • Knowledge of best computer security practices
  • Ability to deliver effective and engaging presentations to a variety of audiences including top management
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email
