Job description

Job Summary

The Director of Trade & Field Marketing leads national trade and field marketing strategy to drive revenue growth, strengthen brand equity, and improve execution across retail and distributor channels. This role owns gotomarket activation, trade strategy, distributor marketing support, retail activation standards, field marketing operations, ambassador programs, promotional planning, and trade communications. Serves as the bridge between Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Distributors to ensure programs remain simple, executable, and measurable.

Key Responsibilities

Lead national trade and field marketing strategy aligned with company growth and brand priorities.

Partner with Sales leadership to develop and execute gotomarket plans that win new accounts and expand existing customers.

Develop channel activation strategies across retail, distributor, and emerging channels.

Translate sales data, market insights, and consumer trends into actionable trade programs.

Lead promotional strategy including launches, seasonal programs, and channel promotions.

Manage promotional calendar and product rollout plans.

Oversee development of sellin materials, distributor collateral, and sales presentations.

Support forecasting and ensure alignment across Sales, Marketing, and Operations.

Track performance and deliver reporting on ROI, spend efficiency, and growth drivers.

Monitor competitive activity and market trends.

Oversee distributor marketing programs including catalog placements, website presence, and promotions.

Support key retailer meetings with Sales leadership.

Build and lead national field marketing programs including demos, events, and trade shows.

Recruit, train, and manage brand ambassadors and field teams.

Establish KPIs and performance metrics for field marketing programs.

Ensure strong brand representation across consumer and trade activations.

Own and manage trade and field marketing budgets.

Analyze performance against marketing spend and optimize allocation.

Partner with internal teams on trade communications and sales presentations.

Lead and develop the trade and field marketing team.

Build scalable systems and processes to support national growth.

Travel to priority markets, distributor meetings, and key events.

Required Skills

Pay: $160,000 - $180,000
