We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Night Shift Dispatch Coordinator to serve as the primary point of contact for drivers and overnight operations. This role is responsible for supporting drivers, coordinating equipment resources, addressing time-sensitive transportation issues, and ensuring smooth communication between drivers, maintenance personnel, and company leadership during overnight hours.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, and can effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of customer service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for driver questions, concerns, and operational issues.
  • Locate and coordinate trailer assignments for drivers as needed.
  • Verify pickup paperwork for completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate and contact roadside assistance providers in a timely manner when equipment issues occur.
  • Reassign tractors and equipment to drivers when operational issues arise.
  • Verify and review orders within BC system when discrepancies or issues occur.
  • Provide coverage for night yard driver call-outs, absences, and vacation periods as needed.
  • Coordinate with the company maintenance shop regarding second-shift and overnight repair needs.
  • Serve as the primary overnight company contact and communicate significant operational issues to management.
  • Assist drivers with time-sensitive situations, including production delays, waiting times, and schedule adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate records of driver communications, equipment assignments, and operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and transportation regulations.
  • Cover for night yard driver call outs and vacations as needed
Qualifications
  • Valid Class A License
  • Valid DOT Card
  • Clean driving record
  • Previous dispatch, transportation, logistics, or fleet operations experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency with transportation management systems, dispatch software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of trucking operations, equipment, and DOT regulations preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
